Year-Round

We have a great team of year-round staff, along with 100 summer staff, that help make camp awesome! Read further to get to know them a little bit better.

Rob Lee (Spray)

Director of Camp & Retreat Ministries

Rob was on Summer Staff at Firwood in the 80′s and came back to The Firs in 1995 as our Guest Services Director. He and Val have one son and two daughters, love where God has placed them, and can’t imagine being anywhere else.

Andy Vander Meulen (Hummina Hummina)

Assistant Director

Andy graduated from Trinity Western University in April 2005 and has been employed at The Firs since September 2006. He has grown up at The Firs [parents Bruce and Barb, grandparents Doug and Helen Anderson], and enjoys working for Camp Firwood. Andy and his wife, Jen, were married in September 2010.

Steve Jagich (Uncle Flopsy)

Leadership Apprentice

Steve is the newest member of the Camp Firwood team and is serving as an apprentice in our FLAP program. Steve is no stranger to Firwood, as he worked as the Videographer [‘06] and Paintball Director [‘07] in past summers. He was also an Intern with The Firs After School Adventure program during the ‘09-’10 school year. Steve met his wife, Reepicheep [Whitney], working together on staff in 2007 and they were married on the Firwood swim beach in 2008.

Angie Brionez (Conundrum)

Registrar

Angie served at Camp Firwood as a Counselor for a summer and Wrangler for two summers. Her last summer she enjoyed serving with Sonny, whom she married in October 2005. Angie and Sonny welcomed their baby boy, Che, in February 2009. She is excited to be involved with Firwood, knowing it’s a valuable place for young hearts wanting to know Christ.

Doug Walker

Facilities Manager

Doug has been on staff in the past and again joined our staff in 2000. He and his wife, Marie, have a son and daughter.

Jan Morell

Guest Services Director – The Firs

Jan has been working in Guest Services since 2000. She has also worked in housekeeping, in the former bookstore and as receptionist at The Firs. She and Jim have a grown son and daughter and seven grandchildren.
